THE NORTH KIRK ART AND CRAFT FELLOWSHIP
The Art and Craft Fellowship meet every Friday from 2pm – 4pm in the Back Hall. Starting at the beginning of September, it would normally run to the end of June. Around 3pm we have a break when we can have a tea or coffee .
During the year members produce art in various forms, painting in water colours, acrylics and oils as well as drawing in pencil and pastels. The paintings covered landscapes, seascapes, portraits, flowers and animals. Crafts such as woodcarving, beading, cross stitch, crocheting, knitting etc were also produced.

It has been good to continue like this but of course discussions and the general chat are not quite the same. It has been great to keep us in touch with each other. The friendship and fellowship we have with each other is invaluable.
Our relaxed friendly group meet each Monday at 7.30.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY GROUP

PNK CHILDREN’S MUSIC GROUP
We are an informal music group that usually meet in the North hall of Penicuik North Kirk. We have a varied membership made up of parents, grandparents & childminders.
We encourage children aged from a few weeks old to 5 years to enjoy music and rhyme through the use of pre-recorded music, musical instruments and lots of actions and movement. ..
Many of our songs are assisted by Makaton signs, we continued this and it is lovely to see how quickly the children learn the signs and actively join in.
During our usual Children’s Choice time we all sit on mats and each of the children takes a turn to choose a song. We sometimes sing the same song quite a few times because they all enjoy certain ones so much! We are careful to thank each child for their choicest.

FUN WITH FLOWERS
Fun with flowers normally meet on Monday afternoons in the Back Hall from 2-4 . We have a different theme each week for our floral arrangements. We have Fun and Fellowship while arranging the theme for the week under the expert eye of Irene Young!

KELLOCK CLUB
2020 saw the men’s association known as the Kellock Club become a North Kirk organisation. For the previous seven years the Club had operated independently, albeit that it used the North Kirk premises for some of its meetings, on an ad hoc let basis, with an annual donation being made towards the cost of heating and lighting. The Club previously met monthly on a Thursday evening in the months of September through to June with members drawn from the North Kirk and friends. Previous annual programmes have included speakers, visits and carpet bowl evenings. Over the years the Club has had a core membership of 12 and at the end of 2020 this stood at 14. A varied programme of events for Club meetings had been agreed by members for 2020, however, we did manage to have two meetings prior to Lockdown. In January we had an enjoyable quiz evening organized by one of our members and in February we had a very interesting, if a little chilly, visit to the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh, again organised by one of our members. Members are very much looking forward to a time when the Club can again meet and enjoy the opportunities for fellowship which the Club offers. At that time new members will be made most welcome.

PASTORAL CARE
The past year has been very quiet for the Pastoral Care team. Very few visits were made before lockdown and, of course, guidelines stated that we were not allowed to undertake visiting. I have, however, taken a note of people brought to my attention and hopefully 2021 may see some sort of visiting being possible.
If anyone has a need to chat on the phone then I am happy to arrange this.
As always, my thanks go to the team of Pastoral Care visitors.
